With project volunteers.

This project, installed on the second anniversary of 9/11, was inspired by the ash and paper that filled the air as the Twin Towers fell. The installation featured over 1,000 folded paper boats each carrying a cargo of donated ash. Volunteers folded the boats and brought ash from burned letters, camp fires, scorched fields — events both tragic and celebratory.
