With Caleb Sampson (Sound)
A 40-foot burnished copper tree suspended above a fleet of 30 Egyptian funerary boats, each carrying a single cast-copper seed. The space was illuminated by a small light above each vessel — as a result the tree form was only visible after the visitor’s eyesight adjusted to the darkness. Shadows of the boats migrated across the gallery floor.
